Plenty Good Sex

January 24, 2008

I thought I would quickly share something random I learned yesterday.

Researcher Alan Hirsch, MD found that the combined aromas of cucumber and Good & Plenty candy and the scent of baby powder tied for first place in a study that tested which scents aroused women the most. Hirsch wrote in his study, “My advice to men would be throw away the cologne and get some Good & Plenty”.

To make it more gay friendly, lets say “My advice to people who like women would be to gets some Good and Plenty”

Sushi meets Tapper

I don’t know how many of you remember Tapper. I have heard it called other names, but usually it is called Root Beer Tapper. The premise is people order a drink and then you fill it and send it down the bar to them. If you take too long they leave, or if you send it the wrong place it crashes. Simple but fun. Elegant video game design. Well I am going to share with you an addictive little game called “Sushi Go Round

It may simple at first, but as you get to the higher levels it is very fast, and the orders become more complicated.

Unfortunately for China

Fortune cookies.  Some love them, some hate them.  But I think most of us are curious about what they are going to say.  I never let anyone crack open mine, but you couldn’t pay me to eat on.  However Christina will devour everyone on the table.  But according to an article in the New York Times, what we know about the cookies might be changing.

Some 3 billion fortune cookies are made each year, almost all in the United States. But the crisp cookies wrapped around enigmatic sayings have spread around the world. They are served in Chinese restaurants in Britain, Mexico, Italy, France and elsewhere. In India, they taste more like butter cookies. A surprisingly high number of winning tickets in Brazil’s national lottery in 2004 were traced to lucky numbers from fortune cookies distributed by a Chinese restaurant chain called Chinatown.

But there is one place where fortune cookies are conspicuously absent: China.

Now a researcher in Japan believes she can explain the disconnect, which has long perplexed American tourists in China. Fortune cookies, Yasuko Nakamachi says, are almost certainly originally from Japan.

The article goes on to trace why Nakamachi believes the cookies are of Japanese origin and the evidence she has found to support the theory.

One Hot Cookie (Literally)

2 SIU students accused of using hot cookies to burn man

November 7, 2007EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — Two students at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville kidnapped, paddled and burned a young man with fresh-baked cookies after a drug deal went bad, prosecutors said. Rosario James, 23, and Jordan Sallis, 20, were charged Monday with aggravated kidnapping, robbery and aggravated battery.

Sheriff’s Capt. Brad Wells said that on Friday night, three men went to James’ house to buy marijuana, but two of them grabbed the drugs and fled. He said the suspects held the third man, demanded $400, beat the man with a wooden paddle, and burned his neck and shoulders with fresh-baked cookies. AP

This is some serious baking.  Next time you plan to jack a drug dealer, check he hasn’t been baking all day.  I think an event like this really gives some street cred to Weeds (an excellent Showtime series).  The terms “half-baked” and “baked” might be a little more literal than imagined.  To prove these guys weren’t just cookie making monsters, they made sure to utilize shaving, peeing, and old school violence to intimidate the thief.
